Gurtam tracking software review

Gurtam is a full service GPS tracking and hosting company which has been in business for over 13 years. Today, I’ll be reviewing the entire service and the options that go with it. It’s important to do your research when looking for a GPS tracking provider or a hosted solution, and my goal is to provide some insight for those looking to decide which service provider is right for their needs.

Whether you have a large fleet of vehicles that you’d like to track, or you want to start a GPS tracking business by using their white-label SAAS platform, brand it and provide solutions to customers, Gurtam provides the necessary resources to do so. The platform is also customizable to being able to work with the map provider of your choosing.

Gurtam supported GPS trackers

As far as hardware support goes, there are hundreds of different devices available to use on the Gurtam platform. Having such a large range of devices supported allows businesses to track a number of different vehicles and assets the best ways possible instead of being locked into using the same device for everything and losing out on the functionality that different types of devices can provide. This is definitely a plus when tracking mixed fleets, intermodal containers, etc.

Mapon tracking software review

Today I’ll be reviewing a GPS fleet tracking company called Mapon. When considering a GPS fleet tracking system, it’s a good idea to be knowledgeable on the features and capabilities which a provider has when looking for a system to purchase. It’s also good to know how the software works and how easy it is to use. In this review I’ll be going over some key features to help you decide if Mapon is right for you.

Mapon is a professional GPS tracking and fleet management company serving thousands of customers worldwide. They also provide hosted, white-label solutions for those looking to start a GPS tracking business. One of the other features Mapon offers is tracking of temperatures in refrigerated trailers which offers a huge benefit to the companies using it to control spoilage and reduce downtime.

Mapon GPS software usability

Mapon’s software is generally easy to navigate and see where vehicles are at any given time, but viewing historical data can be difficult, especially of other vehicle routes overall the ones you wish to view. And also, there does not seem to be an option to click on the pushpins on the map to view event details from that point in time. However, the Mapon software does excel in providing detailed information on fuel consumption and driver behavior which can be extremely useful, especially when managing a large fleet of vehicles. Networkfleet

Networkfleet

Networkfleet tracking software review

Networkfleet is a full service GPS tracking company that offers fleet management services to businesses of all sizes. Networkfleet was recently acquired my Verizon, which means all of their devices are now running on the nation’s largest and most reliable cellular network. This is not the first major telematics related acquisition Verizon has taken part of in the past and should lead to increased service and reliability across all of their holdings.

Networkfleet specializes in tracking large and government fleets at the base of it’s business, but can also be used by individuals as well. They have a full suite of add-on services to tailor the program to meet the end user’s needs. There is no white-label service available for their software, which means those looking to start a GPS tracking business and private label their software will have to look elsewhere.

Networkfleet software features

As far as the actual software goes, Networkfleet’s system can be a bit hard to navigate at times and requires the navigation of complex sub-menus to get more detailed information about fleet use. This can be somewhat time consuming to access and may require that users/employees spend additional time learning how to use the platform. On the plus side, the reports on fuel and vehicle usage generated by Networkfleet’s software are extremely well put together and easy to decipher. However, the ease-of-use factor is definitely a concern when comparing their cloud based platform to companies such as GPSWOX and Navixy which are much less complex to navigate.

GPSINSIGHT tracking software review

Today, I’ll be reviewing another major telematics provider on the market called GPSINSIGHT. GPSINSIGHT has been around for a little over 10 years, and has roots in the trucking industry. I’ll be going over the pros and cons of the service in this review, and hopefully this gives readers a better idea on what the GPSINSIGHT platform can and can’t do for them.

GPSINSIGHT is a full featured GPS tracking company, based in North America that provides tracking solutions for multiple industries and has a highly customizable software suite which allows businesses great flexibility in how they use it, and what types of data they can collect. GPSINSIGHT has solutions available for tracking even the smallest size fleets, all the way up to fleets of over 1,000 vehicles.

GPSINSIGHT software usability

Something that really stands out with GPSINSIGHT is how easy it is to navigate the software. All basic vehicle information is presented clearly on the main screen and it’s easy to see critical vehicle information. As far as alerting and reporting, these options are also available in sub-menus to be accessed separately. There is also a pro version available for fleets of 26 or more which provides a much more in-depth look into a fleet’s usage. This pro version is more difficult to navigate, and is definitely not as good as something like Navixy or Fleetmatics Reveal, but it still can be of use, especially for large fleets, it just might take some additional time to get used to.

Frotcom tracking software review

With so many different GPS tracking providers on the market today, it can be confusing to decide which company you should choose to provide you with the best solution. In this article, I’ll be reviewing Frotcom’s GPS tracking platform to hopefully give readers a better understanding of the company’s services, features and reliability. This will allow those in the market for a GPS tracking system to make an informed decision when it comes to choosing a provider.

Frotcom has been in business since 1997 and provides GPS fleet tracking systems which are distributed in over 30 countries at this time. Frotcom’s core focus is on fleets of every size, and providing them with a host of tracking options for multiple situations. Frotcom is also heavily vested in research and development to stay on top of the ever changing trends in the global telematics industry.

Frotcom tracking software features

At it’s core, Frotcom gives users a way to track and manage their fleet of vehicles, no matter where they are located. There are also a host of other optional features available such as access control, route management, advanced reporting and other helpful features for managing a fleet of any size. There is also support for sensor monitoring which seems to be fairly standard when looking at similar companies. One thing which does stand out with Frotcom however, is the support for advanced monitoring of cargo doors on trailers. Frotcom offers wired and wireless sensors compatible with their hardware which can detect opening and closing of cargo doors. This is extremely helpful when combating cargo theft and can generate alerts if the doors are opened or closed at specified locations or during odd hours.

Fleetmatics tracking software review

It’s incredibly important to do your research when looking at a GPS fleet tracking provider to ensure that you are getting the highest quality service and functionality for what you pay. Today I’ll be reviewing the Fleetmatics platform, hardware and options available to customers. My hope is that this will provide some insight as to whether Fleetmatics (Verizon Connect) is the best choice for your fleet vehicle tracking needs.

Fleetmatics is a full-service GPS tracking provider that is focused entirely on fleet vehicles, ensuring operational efficiency as well as compliance with current mandates for transportation companies. They offer several levels of service, which I’ll also get into later in this review. Another thing worth nothing, is that Verizon has recently acquired Fleetmatics and added it to it’s growing portfolio of telematics investments. In my opinion, this will only help ensure the reliability and quality of service that Fleetmatics provides by using the Verizon network exclusively.

Fleetmatics software options

When it comes to using the Fleetmatics software there are a couple of different plans you can choose. The first is Fleetmatics Now, this is basically a lite version of their software for those who just need to know the current and historical location information of their vehicles. The second is Fleetmatics Reveal, which offers more advanced features such as custom alerting, geo-fencing, driver ID and more. This allows small businesses to get exactly what they need out of a fleet tracking system without paying for features they don’t need.

GpsGate tracking software review

With variety of providers to choose from when looking to enter the GPS tracking market, it’s important to do your research on each provider to ensure that maximum value is provided with the solution you end up choosing. Today I’ll be reviewing GPS Gate’s hosted software solutions for those interested in tracking a fleet of vehicles, or who want to start a GPS tracking company and would like some guidance.

GPS Gate offers both self-hosted and hosted GPS server options, something which is very common throughout all industry providers. With the hosted solution, a fee is charged monthly per tracked asset. With the self-hosted option, users must purchase one license per tracked asset, this license is perpetual. Both of these options include secure encryption and a full suite of account management tools. Both of these options are great for people looking to start a GPS tracking business that provides a monitoring service to customers so they can manage their assets remotely.

The GPS Gate software is customizable and allows for the changing of map providers as well as branding for those who are starting a new GPS tracking business. There is also a mobile device friendly version of the website for ease of access on the go. The software allows for real-time GPS tracking, which gives business owners and individuals valuable insight into the usage and location of their assets. There is also a built in notification and alerts engine, which allows for custom text message or email alerts based of certain parameters such as vehicle theft, harsh driving, speeding, etc. There is also a full reporting suite for in depth analysis of fleet vehicle and asset activities. Another software add on is vehicle maintenance, this is good to have to ensure that fleet vehicles receive the proper care they need and nothing is forgotten. (more…)

GPSWOX tracking software review

GPSWOX is a full featured, hosted GPS tracking solution which helps fleet managers keep track of their vehicles, and also allows users to create their own GPS tracking business by using GPSWOX’s white-label solutions. There are also free options for those looking to track a small number of assets, or are looking to try out the system before deploying it.

There are 2 different options with the GPSWOX You can either let them take care of the hosting, or you can self-host. Both can be good options, with the hosted being the easiest one for non-technical users that would like to start a GPS tracking business or monitor their fleet. And the self-hosted option being a good choice for private fleets and enterprise accounts looking for addition security and control.

GPSWOX user interface

One thing that really stands out with the GPSWOX user interface is its usability. Everything plotted out on the screen is clear and concise, completely leaving out any confusion as to what is displayed on the screen. There are also a wide variety of custom reports and alerts to be seen in the online portal. The GPSWOX system also includes extremely easy to use geo-fencing options, and also marked points-of-interest on the map.

GPSWOX software support

Another key point to consider when looking at a GPS tracking provider, either for hosting you white-label solution or for tracking your fleet of vehicles is technical support. GPSWOX offers 24/7 365 customer service to its customers absolutely free of charge. Other providers often skimp on this, and will have limited hours of service with their technical support team. In today technology driven environment, it is extremely important to make sure there is a dedicated team available to help you at all hours, should any issue arise.

Position Logic GPS tracking software Review

Position Logic is a full featured technology company which offers a host of software options as well as hardware solutions for those looking to track their assets, and also for those interested in stating a GPS tracking business. This is accomplished by configuring a white-label software platform which allows business owners to brand the platform and sell their solution to clients for a monthly charge.

There are two different ways to approach the Position Logic platform when looking to start a GPS tracking business or manage your current fleet of vehicles. The first is a completely hosted solution which offers a completely turn-key experience for its users. This means that Position Logic will maintain, upgrade and repair the servers as necessary to ensure maximum uptime for its clients. This is a great place to start for those who are less technologically savvy, or those who just don’t want to deal with having a third party host their solution. The second option is completely self-hosted and requires you to have your own server to run the platform on. This can be good for large businesses that want the security of hosting their tracking solution in house and having their IT team handle any issues or upgrades.

Position Logic software interface

When looking at the actual end-user interface, Position Logic seems to have one of the more advanced and polished looking platforms on the market, similar to the Navixy platform. The software is easy to navigate and has a host of different reports and custom alerts available. There are also multiple layers on the map which can be manipulated, and the ability to track routes and dispatch vehicles as well. Another thing to be mentioned is how customizable this platform is. For those looking to start a GPS tracking business, or fleet managers in specific industries, the platform can be tailored to industry-specific needs.

Visirun GPS tracking software review

Visirun is a full features GPS tracking company which provides advanced GPS tracking solutions to it’s customers. It should also be noted that Visirun is a division of Fleetmatics, which is also another major player in the fleet telematics game. The focus of Visirun is mainly on larger sized corporate fleets, and provides a host of advanced solutions for their demands.

When looking at the capabilities of the Visirun platform, on thing that really stands out is the abundance of features which are available. There is even an option to view the tachometer of each vehicle in the fleet. This feature is not used by many providers in the industry and can provide fleet managers in depth insight into the use of their vehicles. There is also the option to monitor additional peripherals such as fuel tanks, temperatures and more.

The Visirun platform is completely web-based and also available in the form of a mobile application for the convenience of the end-user. At times however, it can be somewhat difficult to navigate the interface when compared to platforms with similar functionality such as Navixy. With that being said, the software is still manageable and does provide the advanced functionality that larger fleets may require. There are also a host of reporting and alerting options available, all of which seem to be quite standard in the industry today. No surprises in that department.
